Happy New Year

Here comes a new year. It seemed appropriate to list a few things that I am thankful for, perhaps to read over during life’s myriad of moments filled with terrible trepidation and anxiety. Therefore, clutching Khayyam’s words: “Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life”, I write my list.

The gloriously golden and buttery Panko crust topping that cloaks its internal gooey-cheese oozing mac and cheese.

A husband who lets me sleep in on the weekends and looks after our little one, even though they are his only days to get more precious silent slumber.

Rare chilly days in Florida that command the making of Chuao Winter Hot Chocolate. Infused with the likes of cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and other spices, it beckons you to drink the lusciously thick and velvety concoction, warming every inch of your being.

But mostly….

Armaan’s untamable coiling swirls of hair around his ears and the nape of his neck. The ones he is constantly swatting to the side with his pudgy, fat, fingers. Yes, that’s it, that is what I am most grateful for.

  Happy 2011, dear friends.
